So why does having schizophrenia = bound and gagged in a room with odd math problems on the wall? Please!

Schizophrenics are sometimes known for hurting others or themselves based upon their paranoia (as we've seen semi-recently :s), so the straight jacket is used for in most cases the safefty from themselves. The math problems on the wall are/were used frequently in state hospitals in the 70's (I believe, could have been earlier) where they put the craziest of crazys who are too crazy to be out on the street, they are there to keep the mind occupied with something other than the delusions that often take residence in the brain.

I myself have been in a state hospital once, been in a straight jacket at least 3 times, and had bed restraints twice...

I hope my comment didn't piss you off. Didn't mean to if I did.

Not at all ... no need to sweat it in the least.
