I'm... pretty good. Sort of eyerolly at the election results last night but good. I'm working on a NaNoWriMo story so that's been eating up my time. :B
Hi!! It's sad but I haven't been paying attention to this election, as I'm registered to vote in Jersey but live in Philly and therefore have no say in the matters at hand haha.
Haha fair nuff. I tried to take a break from reading the news but it keeps sucking me back in.
It was supposed to be about a female sports coach.. but it's somehow turning into a middle class marriage drama. Yeah, I need more discipline or it's gonna turn into "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf" with soccer. But it's been forever since I even attempted a story so I'm giving myself a gold star for these attempts.
Oh I've been up to lots of stuff. I've found that moving into a house with 2 of your BFFs sucks up most of your free time. I've been knitting my ass off (see comment below), watching the Phillies lose the playoffs (;_;), planning and/or attending parties, trying to see my various family members when I can, reading a bunch (have you read Zeitoun by Dave Eggers? You'd like it, I think!), and after waiting 4 entire months, we finally got the gas in our house turned on this weekend, so now I can cook on the stove instead of a microwave.
Also, I'm freaking out about Deathly Hallows. And missing Lost. And watching all of my shows, some of which are better than ever (Fringe and 30 Rock), while some of which are inexplicably crappy this year (Supernatural...wtf.)
My life's goal is to move in next door to you and study knitting at your feet - or sitting in a chair next to you, whichever! Your work is always inspiring.
Haha aw!! Well thanks! Really, knitting is not nearly as hard as it looks. I've taught myself everything I know. If you really want to learn I highly recommend the book Stitch and Bitch and www.knittinghelp.com. You really don't need much else to learn how to do pretty much anything!
How are YOU? I've been trying to visit your website and keep getting scary pop-ups that it's infected. I miss your Lost recaps even more than I miss Lost. :)
I'm good! Really good! And oh god I totally forgot to write back to you about my site I think, but yes I know about that problem, I'm working on it now!! Or rather I'm getting a friend of mine to help me figure out what the problem is and how to fix it. I'm so sad the site got hacked, I have no idea how it happened ;_;
Glad to hear you're good and not abducted by aliens. :) How's the new life in Philly? Are the plans for the shop still on? Your knitting is soo gorgeous.
Haha I know, it must seem that way. It's so hard keeping up with Facebook, Twitter, LJ, etc and still spending my free time not on the computer all night.
Philly is awesome! I love it, even if my neighborhood is rather shady at times. My job is good, I see my friends all the time, I'm always knitting or reading or trying to catch up with the 400 shows I watch haha.
The plans for the shop kind of went on hold last year when Lost came back and I had to spend all my waking hours writing recaps. But I haven't forgotten about it, it would still be the best thing ever!
I'm really excited about Deathly Hallows coming out soon, I'm like freaking out about it. I've slowly been listening to the audiobook for about a month in preparation. sd';lfk'a;lds
Aw hi! Is everyone really gone? I feel like it's just me until I randomly check my f-list and see it's more than that. I guess Facebook and tumblr and Twitter has stolen everyone, huh? It's not the same!!
I started working in a bookstore and I've never been happier in any job, selling people books is awesome. It's also very stressy because we're working slightly crazy hours at the moment, so I spend most of my "free time" sleeping. ^^
I am jealous, I've always wanted to work in a bookstore!!! I work at a university, which has also been a dream of mine so it all works out haha.
I'm awesome! Pretty much! I've been really busy with work and my friends and family and various social obligations, plus all my knitting stuff and what have you.
I'm seriously contemplating taking a trip next summer to Europe for like 2 weeks - would you have any interest in showing me around for a few days? I've never been to Germany and getting to hang out with you would be a.maz.ing.
Huzzah for dream jobs! :D It's so much fun, there are few things that compare to introducing someone to a book you really love <3
OBVIOUSLY! :D I would love that! :) What other countries are you thinking of checking out? Ooh, it would be so cool to have you here! :D
I HAVEN'T WATCHED IT YET. *epic fail* That's the downside of a new full-time job, I'm so behind on EVERY tv show. I'm even behind on Dexter, which I usually always watch as soon as it's up. *sigh*
YAY. I'm thinking of maybe doing France and Spain as well. Or Italy. I'm not sure. All I know is I get lots of vacation time and I've only ever been to Europe once and that was like 6 years ago at this point and I want to go back and visit LJ friends while I'm there!! WHEE! It could potentially be the best thing ever. Just saying. lol
OH MAN! Well take your time, now you've got like 9 months until the next season starts! I've been keeping up with Dexter although I know what you mean, I'm so behind on so many shows!
