If I had to say, they were probably more strict than the average Church. That is just an assumption based upon the fact that the church was Latino.

Heh, my church was Chinese, so I got a double whammy of the doctrine of gratitude and obedience.

You are thinking about how long you've been sitting in church and how incredibly bored you are. Strange how despite all that time I spent, I became an atheist. Or perhaps it is just ironic.

I think it may have better equipped you to be an atheist because you already know all the arguments. and saw the BS first hand.

Definitely. The Internet introduced me to slash which made me think homosexuality wasn't so bad, and it made it possible for me to have the indepth discussion about religion that I couldn't offline.Shame it isn't as easy as say...well, let me explain. I have brought up the more ridiculous parts of the Bible...you know. Shellfish is an abomination, men can't have long hair etc. Take the typical Christian, say something out of Leviticus (but don't say it was from the Bible) and they will say you are crazy, ignorant, or a fool. But if you were to say those things are from the Bible...well from my experience, Christians basically just ignore it. Animal sacrifice, selling your daughter into slavery, you name it, they ignore it ( ... )
