I hear ya on the 'y' version. I still visibly cringe when anyone calls me Jenny. Which is whenever I visit my family. 20 years of sans-y goodness and they still have to use it and, worse, introduce me to people as Jenny.
Congrats on letting the aitch back into your life, but it may take years for me to get used to it :)
sometimes it's too annoying to compete with the legal spelling...i go back and forth with the "cca" and "kah" too. often the changed version strikes me as pretentious. but it works better as a nickname :)
