Talking to God

Feb 26, 2006 21:49

i came across a very interesting article today. those of you that have been with me for a while know that i'm an agnostic. but regardless of what your beliefs are i think you should read this simply because its thought provoking. its not going to change your thoughts on the existence of God or convert you into a believer. what it does do is ( Read more... )

I think it's important as a christian to offer that knowledge of God but there's a fine line of not judging folks because they don't beleive what you beleive. Well, i find that most difficult just because i have so many friends of so many different religions.

you're right there is definitely a fine line when you are trying not to judge someone. i think the key is keeping an open mind. thats why i found this article so interesting

Gosh, this is going to be like my 4th attempt to comment on this entry... Something always goes wrong just as I'm trying to post it!

I am agnostic as well. I didn't get a chance to read the entire article yet, but I will.

Do you ever have to deal with people automatically assuming you are some evil satan follower when you reveal to them that you are agnostic? Most of the time, I refuse to discuss religion because some people can be so close-minded!

i have never had anyone (to my face) accuse me of being evil because of my beliefs. what i tend to get are those people who think that i can be easily swayed if i simply go to church or read the bible. they think once i'm exposed to it (which i have been), i'll "see the light"

its frustrating but i try to keep in mind that most religions require members to spread the word. i guess some people think agnostics and atheists are easy targets.

but hey to each his own

Sometimes i think that I'm a christian and somtimes i don't think I'm. I really enjoyed the artical because it makes me think about if he truly exsit or not. I really don't know what to think. I do agree with you though.

i think its only natural to question what you believe in. it helps you take step closer to what you believe to be the truth

I was raised christian...but never really followed the religion .Now i do believe there is a god or higher being , but that article just makes u question the big picture more . Halfway thru it I was like ...ok..dit dude really sit next 2 god & have a full fledged discussion that ranged from his beliefs to other livin species out there...Then I thought v2k technology which no average people really dont know about...this technology has been around for years where this type of machine can hear & see everything you do ,as well as record all your events that ever in life...Then towards the end I was like.....wel damn ....is he reallly talkin to god...cuz it seemed like he knew so much....Good article tho ,cuz now Im sittin here even more now than ever...tho I never seen god....but talk to him sometimes...does he really physically exist..

glad you found it interesting. i think most people who read it would have to at least wonder if there's some truth to it

As much as most would question the validity of this happening I have to say some of those things I ave questioned myself

"'Can you seriously imagine how the Pope would react to the reality of my existence?! If he really understood how badly wrong he and his church have been, how much of the pain and suffering you mentioned earlier has been caused by his religion, I suspect he'd have an instant coronary!"

Especially this part...Not about the pope exactly but I have always felt most organized religion had it wrong...And this just says something to me...I am definitely not alone
