1. My friend, John Woods (AKA Punk Rock John) photographs bands (live, sills, whatever you need). He usually just charges cost of film, a couple dollars or food for some Dell Taco. He's been doing this since we were in High School and he's had some of his stuff asked to be on album covers, album art, websites, shirts (hardcore bands mostly like N.I.V.), independent films, and most recently he's been asked to do some photography for GUESS jeans. I don't think he's realized the concept of money yet though...either that or he just likes taking photos and doing stuff for people. keeping the whole punk DIY ethic, which is why he's earned the name, "Punk Rock John ( ... )

Thanks so much, even though this was sort of in vein cause your girlfriend would have gave me the info anyway!

I hadn't heard Vashti put something out this year, that's crazy. Sounds like something I better check out...A friend of mine and myself always make end of the year comp's so I'm starting to feel the pressure. I'll make sure to send you a copy.

I'll see if John can cruise through Saturday, thanks again.

i have a friend named john woods who is an amazing photographer, and loves to photograph bands. he's been paid to do a few shoots & has had his photography put on shirts & websites, etc. as far as i know, he's EXTREMELY cheap - as in, he always seems surprised when he gets paid.
his lj username is fightthemback. he lives in orange county, but i'm sure would be willing to drive up there.

My ex is a semi-professional photographer who does bands. He's in photo school but has been working semi-professionally for a few years. He goes to school in Santa Barbara but he's in LA a lot doing stuff.

they are an amazing band to see live. i was lucky to get tickets to their show here in ohio at newport april 9th.
