Character: Roxas
Series: Kingdom Hearts II
Timeline: Pre-KHII (Deep Dive ?? lmao, idek, after Riku is a jerk and bonks him)
Wiki Us a Bio/History: He actually has a real nice tribute page

Elaborate, if necessary: You can find his history and etc up in that shrine. Someone spent a hell of a lot more time and dedication than I could ever do, but since Roxas is PreKH-II, his personality is important to touch upon with other Kingdom Hearts members already at AT.

PERSONALITY ---> As Sora's nobody, Roxas initially doesn't have much in terms of feeling emotions. However, unlike other nobodies, he's a special one as Sora doesn't remain a heartless. He has no memories of his past life like the other members of Organization XIII, and joins them when promises are made to help him answers questions about himself and his past. Slowly, Roxas starts to develop some personality which is mentioned to be extremes of Sora's own. It's a bit difficult to pinpoint whether Roxas' personality was actually put together towards the end, but judging from his interaction with Riku and his responses to leaving the Organization prior, I think he has some semblance of one. Nobodies aren't supposed to feel, but seems pretty capable of emotions even before his personality and memories are altered by DiZ.

One of Roxas' more notable traits in his personality is how much more aggressive he is than Sora. He's more easily angered and more willing to engage in a fight without a second thought. And unlike Sora, funnily enough that while he's easily made angry, he's overall more melancholy and stoic than his other-self, especially as he starts to learn what and who he really is. What he does share in common with Sora, however, is the low tolerance for people jerking him around and toying with his head. His friends are also important to him, although where he's being pulled from makes it hard for there to be any real proof of that yet.

(As for Nuadoria: Roxas will arrive in Nuadoria confused and disappointed. He'll be aloof with others initially, save for Sora, Namine, and Riku (the former two which he knows of, but has never met up to his point and the latter one having just kicked his ass), and it's uncertain how he will deal with the revelations to the questions he has. Regardless, as his personality start to develop in Nuadoria he has the strong potential to take the same path with it as he did in original canon.)

RELATIONSHIPS ---> Since he's pre-KHII, his relationships are limited, and I'll keep it brief. He knows everyone in Organization XIII, obviously.

-------> Sora ; Knows of him, but hasn't met him. He's claimed to hate Sora due to their relation, but from my point of view (and how he'll be played HAHA) it's more frustration and jealousy of a lack of an identity than actual hate. Who can hate Sora once they meet him, anyway?

-------> Namine ; He knows of Namine and has heard her often talked about, including from Axel, but has never been allowed to interact with her and he's never thought much about it.

-------> Riku ; As far as Roxas is concerned, him being here (Nuadoria) is Riku's fault. Actually, a good deal of everything might be Riku's fault in Roxas' opinion for the time being as he was the sole culprit in stopping him from continuing his search for Sora (so he thinks, anyway).

-------> Axel ; His best (read: only) friend, but Roxas abandoned him in favor of finding out about himself. While he seems to like Axel well enough (they're best friends, of course), Roxas doesn't really seem to understand the concept as well as Axel does judging from their conversations.

FIGHTING STYLE ------> With Roxas' personality, his fighting style and ability is a little bit more important (lol agression, why). His strength lies in dual wielding his keyblades rather than Sora's double handed technique and Riku's single handed one that both make optimal use of one keyblade. His keyblades are always Oblivion [for Sora's feelings towards Riku] and Oathkeeper [for Sora's feelings towards Kairi](although it was shown he can use the Kingdom Key, too) and his element is light. (He's also able to control Samurai nobodies, but none of them are in Nuadoria, so its moot point). Nothing says the rest better than Wikipedia:

"When he attacks with his full power and the element of Light, Roxas becomes a much more dangerous foe. He can glide at fast speeds, so fast in fact that he leaves behind a lens flare, and control thirteen sword-shaped shields of light energy which can connect to form a laser array. He can levitate the keyblades in the air and whirl and spin them rapidly, showing a great deal of proficiency and skill with the blades, and can also counter any extended combo with a more powerful one of his own, even creating a ring of damage just by twirling them in a circle. His special attack involves him floating in the air and shooting his thirteen light shields around the arena, which then light it up in a thick twilight mist as Roxas begins shooting blue spheres of light at his opponent from energy gathered in his hands. He'll often attack rapidly from side-to-side, confusing the opponent, leaving a trail of light behind him. He can also perform the Duel Bout technique (similar to his Samurai Nobodies) where he rushes at his opponent and slashes at them quicker than the blink of an eye, causing intense damage if not repelled, the twist is that Sora can utilize Roxas' keyblades if he does repel the attack. However, when Sora steals Roxas' keyblades, Roxas resorts to utilizing his light shields to full effect, before moving in to steal his keyblades back from Sora.

In comparison to Sora, Roxas seems to have a far more aggressive style: he is constantly on the offensive, and abandons any defensive moves he had previously used, such as the Guard technique, in favour of speed and strength. Roxas' power is relatively the same as Sora's was during his first time in Hollow Bastion; superior to Axel but below Xemnas. When he fuses with Sora, his power skyrockets (as well as Sora as they benefit from each other) and they become equal. This gives birth to Sora's ultimate Drive Form, the Final Form. Final Form's battle style is very similar to the one that Roxas uses in his fight with Sora."

Randomly, if he is unable to make using of his duel wielding, he kind of sucks. C:

What are they bringing to Nuadoria?: Roxas is bringing Oblivion and Oathkeeper with him to defend himself so he doesn't cry by himself, and maybe a cookie for the road.

Third-Person Sample:

That wasn't what he'd been expecting when he'd engaged with the other he'd, moments earlier, willingly lent his second keyblade to. Was it so natural for them to both understand they were actually enemies themselves the minute the Heartless were eradicated from the picture? Was it possible to be able to see someone's intentions so quickly and so clearly when you'd technically never met them before?

Roxas wasn't exactly sure, but he knew the answer to both those questions had to have been yes. And so right he'd been, although the boy couldn't exactly place how he'd initially come to that conclusion. It wasn't just the confusion of someone adorning the same black cloak as him attacking him-were Axel's words already ringing true?-because something told him somewhere along the way they were both obstacles to one another's goals. This one knew where Sora was, after all, and Roxas needed to find Sora. The name of this person was missing, Roxas' memory splintered like a glass window that had alreadynlost a few of its piece, but he had no doubt of their overall identity as someone knowledgeable to what he seeking.

That was why when Oblivion was smashed into the ground near him as he lay upon his back, slowly pulling himself back to a conscious state, he didn't relent. There was no hesitance in taking back the black keyblade and turning it on the other. There was no rethinking of his decision to continue this fight and Roxas bolted back with an onslaught towards his silver-haired opponent. No, no, no, he would not even give consideration of losing to this stranger. There was nothing that was going to get in his way, not when he was finally searching for answers.

Truthfully, to find answers was his only real desire. He wanted to find himself, both literally and figuratively in a sense, and he wanted to understand what his purpose was. Why did he have the ability to wield these keyblades? Why did even this other initially vehemently demand an answer for why he could use them? Did everyone understand something he did not?

Best friend. This was Sora's best friend. The puzzle was started to put itself together, but still no name to match to a face. Of course the best friend would-should-know the whereabouts of the one he sought.

"Quit fooling around," Roxas snapped now that the stranger had avoided his most recent swing with Oblivion and backed off a good distance. Roxas held his ground at the other's small retreat, tiny uncertainties heightening the longer this situation took and grinding his patience thin. You're playing with me, don't think I can't see. He didn't have time for games. Neither of them probably had time for games.

Or, maybe the other did, because he stood there in silence before disregarding what was said. So cocky did the other speak now, and it threw Roxas for a loop. Unfortunately, the noose tightly jerked Roxas to a halt when the context of the stranger's words were understood. "What's wrong, Sora? Are you done aleady?"

This couldn't be happening. Never had he felt so unsure of himself as he did with this short exchange.

Sora, Sora, Sora.

Frustration beyond comprehension had started to eat away at his senses, devouring any possibility he could have walked away from this taunting boy in the black cloak. His anger melted, pure and hard, with every passing second that he listened. He didn't care what anyone said, he wasn't Sora. "How pathetic."

And he wasn't pathetic, either, because wasn't the other paying attention? His anger dropped so suddenly, confused, and his response to this taunt felt so natural it would have almost been like he knew this person and done it before: "What are you talking about? You're the one that's losing-" but those words weren't his, and Roxas' stable ground was starting to disintegrate just as his expression did. He became momentarily lost, wondering just where such a type of response would come from because, really, why would he-

Damn it!

-Deep down, Roxas knew. And so did the other. "You really are his nobody..."

And the name that had been fragmented from his memory suddenly hit Roxas hard as his eyes narrowed at that response. Riku. Why he knew that or how he knew that was something he'd have wanted to question at any other point in his existence, even any other point in this confrontation. Except now. Because this conversation had started to derail onto a path that asking why he knew a name was the farthest from his mind. What was on his thoughts was Riku's words: an answer to his self-proposed question he didn't like; one he refused to accept without answers. This talk of being his nobody. How dare this one say such a thing so casually?

Roxas knew to continue his search, he had to go forward, and through if someone wanted to stand in the path. A flaring desire to end this confrontation burned up his spine, fists clenching tightly in anger, gripping Oblivion in one hand all the more. Why couldn't he control his reaction to these words? To these taunts? He couldn't walk away even if he wanted to now. "...I guess I have to trust DiZ."

And that was really all it took to make him finally snap. Shut up, shut up! Sora's best friend or not, anyone in his way would receive the same treatment. They were all the same in the end. They really all were the same.

"Why do you keep talking about him?!" Roxas demanded, but it was just as much out of desperation as it was denial dipped and heavily coated in rage. Not that he expected an answer. No one seemed to like giving answers, rather they relished in holding them over his head. Another person who knew more than he did. Another person wanting to weave cryptic circles around him. He didn't feel like a person listening to this. He felt like nothing more than a hollowed out shadow of someone else. Just like-

No, I'm not Sora. "I'm myself," he shouted, trying to convince himself as much as the other standing before him. He did not expect understanding in response. The only thing expected was further conflict, and this time Roxas was more than willing to initiate the violence again with such successful provocation. "I'm me!" Roxas, he insisted, summoning on Oathkeeper to join him again for battle. I'm Roxas. And Roxas was ready to throw his denial and his hate face forward; use it to fuel his momentum into ending this once and for all as he moved offensively at his opponent. His first attack failed, but his backup technique didn't. It was raw force wielding Oathkeeper and Oblivion in a unison swing that he slammed them into the other, breaking through any defense the other may have tried to have. The power of the blow made a hard snap above its more heavy tone and pushed Riku back, away from Roxas and the keyblades. The grunt of pain supported Roxas' suspicions of being victor, and if they weren't enough to confirm, the poorly slumped posture where the other tried to keep himself from falling completely to the ground as he nursed his injured arm was.

Well, that looked like it might have done some actual damage. Maybe it hurt. And don't forget how it feels.

Because don't you understand? The blonde haired boy bit his lip as he slowly slid from his attack position to stand straight. It was almost with sympathy-but no, not really at all because this one was trouble of the darkest kind if he wasn't going to explain what he hinted he knew-that he gazed over towards the crumbled form. "You can't beat me," -I won't let you or anyone else-"no matter how much you try, the outcome will be the same!"

This was over.

Or was it? In retrospect, Roxas would realize he did not understand when his enemy was far beyond his comprehension.

"I guess so... looks like I have to resort to that." was all it took to make Roxas grit his teeth, tightening his grip on his keyblades in automatic defense. "To what?" Again with the impulsive replies that he really didn't expect to get answers for.

Only, this one particular question was answered and the next last minutes of consciousness were lost together in a smothering smoke of gray. He'd been so confident he'd make it, so determined to find out who and what he really was. All those unanswered questions. He'd thrown his faith into that while no one else would help him answer them, that Sora would know. Sora was who he set out looking for to do what the Organization had promised, but failed to do for him. He'd wanted to find Sora, and as much as he felt hate for an individual he didn't even know other than through dreams, it wasn't a typical hate. The words were the same, but hating Sora was not what it seemed. It really was just an exasperated, worn out and dejected feeling of jealously. How could so many not see him for who he was and only as a shadow of this other?

He'd been prepared to fight again, but it was suddenly clear the odds had turned violently against him when his enemy in their new form was one minute so far away and the next closer than personal space would ever allow. Roxas choked back his gasp in a badly attempted suppression of his shock, but before he could react further the heartless that was now in company with the other teen-no, man-grabbed him, lifting him off his feet to powerlessness. It was then a struggle against the inevitable slow and crushing descent of asphyxia.

I can't lose! Oh, but he was losing, wasn't he? Way to get your foot shoved so hard into your mouth, Roxas. How painful was the pressure of defeat. He struggled, tried so hard to keep his head above the sea of blackness gradually flooding his vision. Was this really how it was all going to end? Such a short journey for someone so confident. And really, maybe if people could have just left him well alone, he could have found his answers to his questions. He was sure of it.

This ending wasn't fair.

He didn't want to be nonexistent: who did? But, if that's all he was meant to be-a nobody to somebody-then he needed to know why. Need to understand. And he was sure now, as the keyblades slipped from his grasp and he slipped into unconsciousness that all of his questions would have been answered if this other had just stayed out of it. He could have finally had a sense of self if only he'd been able to find Sora first.

...Agh, that was-

...Wait, where is this...?

[silence for several minutes now, trying to make sense of where he'd been when he last was conscious]

-What happened? Great.
