Benjamin,

Most anything I have to say is not going to help.
The fact that I am also a lot younger doesn't help any.
Yeah, I'm only 17, but I've always been around people much older (ie: you, Will, Alexis), we all get jaded and we all get tired.
It's a never ending cycle and these feelings do get easier...or at least routine.
I can't tell you to leave it to God, but atleast have solace and the constant knowing that there are so many more people out there struggling to find some semblance of a balance.

Don't worry about the money right now.
I know Alexis won't.
Just show your love for her in every aspect that you can; that's the true motivation to a relationship, not the amount of presents you can buy and the amount of money you may spend in a week, but it's the way in which you hold her; kiss and caress her.

So...there's my two cents as a mere 17-year-old already quite familiar with the way you're feeling.

God bless you, Ben.
Take care.

I think the generation before us were the last to be on the whole "Let's work to better our future" kick. When we hear stories of our elders achievements it's enough to make us all question the way we live. The girls want me to tell you it's just boys.

Which is probably true.

I feel your funk man. The winter's depression is a hard one to take, and all those reasons backing yours just worsen it's cold bite. I'm sorry about all the crap going on with your family, it does suck and I remember my first holiday sans dad, it just wasn't right. I'm sure the job thing will happen soon enough though, it's Christmas, somebody needs help.

In closing know that you are loved on this end and can always come jump around on the Wii if you feel blue.
