http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/07-Ghost#Minor_charactersPersonality: Charismatic, charming, attractive, popular - Shuri's got the makings of a protagonist in a shoujo manga. Indeed, Shuri is an impressive specimen. He's calm and charismatic, attracting all the attention in the room when he walks in. He's capable of giving great inspirational speeches and stirring people, and has a great many followers in school. He tests we ll, he's skilled in magic, he's at the top of all his classes - certainly this must mean he's absolutely brimming with excellent qualities!
While you'd think that at first, Shuri's Golden Boy persona is rather tarnished and this quickly becomes painfully apparent if you are not at or above his current social standing. That kind, handsome face twists into a sneer when he lays eyes on any person who he feels threatened by or feels is beneath him. Teito Klein is one such example, and is the source of much contempt and frustration. Though equal (and most likely above) him in skill, Teito's background as a slave is not something that Shuri can overlook. Indeed, his shallow personality prevents him from even attempting to befriend the boy and he instead ridicules him constantly. Mikage too, when the other boy decided to befriend the taciturn boy. Being in a very highschool like setting, Shuri's attitude never really earned him any real bad reputation from any of the people around him, nor was ever reprimanded, and considering High Society, never really grasped what empathy really meant. He's completely full of himself, in a constant state of bliss and pride and complete ignorance of people's feelings. He's very casual and fails to speak respectfully to those superior to him (something that shocked the Black Hawks), but at least displayed a willingness to serve.
Image is everything, after all.
As the son of a wealthy, noble military family, he's always been surrounded by people willing to do whatever it takes to please him. If he did wrong? There was always someone to clean up the mess and pat him on the back. He was coddled and protected all his life, spoiled rotten, but a dutiful son who followed his father's every order without question. And Shuri is very much a Daddy's boy - a useless one at that - and follows all of his father's orders unquestioningly and with perfect trust. His resolve in battle is weak, at best, and one might wonder if this is because he's never really ever had to decide what he's fighting for or do anything other than score perfect grades.
Rich, studious, strong and bustling with energy, he could pass for a good shounen hero fighting valiantly against evil! And with such perfect grades in school, one must expect him to be a powerhouse of a fighter! It's debatable as to how strong he actually is, as his weak resolve makes him a coward in battle. There's a good chance that the boy had never seen a dead body before his first battle - his reaction to it was so strong that he ended up in a state of hysteria and cried on Konatsu's shoulder when the danger had passed.
Strengths: Shuri was at the top of his class and the Class President. When not being a total git, he's wonderful at dealing with people and has many who respect and adore him and hang onto his every word. He's popular, self confident and charismatic. His skill in battle is presumably high on tests and simulations, though he has the unfortunate trait of being a coward. Emotionally, he's usually a bubble of all consuming delight and happiness, with an ego the size of Russia. He bounces back from trauma fairly easily so long as he's got a good emotional support.
He's incredibly good looking and has a tendency to sparkle - but that's our little secret.
Weaknesses: Shuri is a complete and utter coward. When fighting a real enemy in the face of danger he falters, freezes, and simply stands and waits for the blows to come. He has no resolve in battle and despite any skill he may possess, it's all for nothing when he's staring the enemy in the eye. Shuri crumbles emotionally after facing death and danger, falling into complete and utter hysteria ranging from tears to laughter. Shuri also has no tact and fails at censoring what he's saying. He speaks the first thing on his mind. His common sense is also lacking.
