Well been some fun shit past week or so....
So it’s been a while since I’ve really updated anything important. Past few weeks have been kind of boring. I haven’t really done anything exciting other than work and regular bullshit. Except last night, last night was the first time since I can remember that I’ve sat down and watched 4 movies back to back.
We first watched Gumo, a movie about Zenia, Ohio and how fucked up it is after a tornado hit. It was entertaining, I don’t know if I liked it but it was entertaining. Watched little kids beat cats and shoot them with BB guns and a guy sell his retarded sister as a whore. It was really kind of sad because It reminded me of my great grandmas and how freaking country they are. After that we moved on to Great Expectations. It was pretty good. I didn’t really like the ending. I would have preferred if they didn’t end up together, but still a pretty good movie. And then we moved onto Requiem. I didn’t really like that movie so much. Everyone said I had to see it so I was expecting a great movie. Maybe it just got built up a bit too much. And then I watched the Graduate. It was made in like 68. It was amazing how many movies have referenced that movie. Even family guy jumped on the bandwagon and did it. It too was just ok. The ending was pretty cool and the beginning was pretty cool. It really surprised me at one point this woman was trying to sleep with this kid so she started to strip for him and they showed like a frame of her tits and her lower abdomen. I think this has been the only time that ive ever went back and paused a movie to see some tits. Its crazy… they got away with that shit in 68. Either I just have a really wrong idea of society back then or it was just added in the DVD version. But now im watching the Professional. It’s pretty good so far. It’s got Natalie Portman when she was like 10 years old. She was even attractive back then.
My friend Alex has got a thing with blockbuster where he gets unlimited rentals for a month. He can keep two out at a time. So he has been going pretty much twice a day and burning them. That’s insane. He is pretty much getting four movies a day. I think he said it was only like $20.
Today Alex, Rory, Jonny and myself were kicking the soccer ball. Well it was my turn to shoot and I waited a min cause there was a big guy and his chick walking across the area. Well once they passed I took my shot. Well from a good 40 feet away I hit the chick as she is walking away. I drilled the chick in the head. Yeah… Insane shot. Im over the feeling shitty and laughing and amazed at the shot.
Well that is all.
So if you didn’t already know my brother Timm got married on Saturday up in Cincinnati. So we left early Thursday morning and got up to Cincy at like 3.30. The first day we ate at Uno’s Pizzeria. It’s some good ass pizza. Then we all went to see Timmy’s new apartment. It’s nice and cozy for them too and the baby on its way. But after that we went back to the hotel and hung out. It was a little odd my momma, Stine (other soon to be sister in law) and I went to a bar and had a few beers. Never had my mom buy me beer before. But after that we all just went to bed. But man was Friday a blast from the past. I went to the mall and drove around all the places where I grew up. It was really strange seeing my house for sale. They gave us such a hard time when they bought it from us so we were so tempted to fuck with them. Like I wanted to steal all the little fliers they had at the ‘for sale’ sign. We were gonna call them and just ask as many questions about it and see what there asking for it and then talk shit about the house (as they did to us). But nothing happened like that. But eventually we had to goto the rehearsal/dinner. It was kinda boring but we went to Montgomery Inn and the freaking Ribs and Pork Chops I had were freaking amazing. And yes the food deserved to be capitalized because this place is rated like top ten ribs places or something like that. Finally after I got done with the whole family thing I got to pick up Jonny and Ashley and meet some of my old HS friends at the sports bar that Jon and I pretty much went to on a weekly basis with our parents. Man that place hasn’t changed a bit, well other than karaoke. And for a bar it blows. 3 fucking beers on tap? Once we finished our beers we headed to a pub that was recently built. That place was freaking sweet! They had great beers and they had the perfect setup for the CO2 and such. I wish we had something like that here.
Saturday was pretty fun as well. I met up with my friends again and hung out for a few hours. It totally felt like that army commercial where that guy walks in and says ‘nothing has changed’. We all pretty much fell back to stupid high schoolers. It was fun taking a trip back to memory lane.
As far as the wedding went it was ok. The place they got married was pretty but it was kinda hot and I was sporting a suit. I got to seat people down and escort them up stairs. Or at least try to. Not many people like a stranger walking with them. Less work for me I guess. But anyway I almost laughed a couple of times during the wedding. First was when the vows were being read. They were totally early 1900s bullshit. I guess because Kate’s dad is a minister. But they said shit like the wife must love the husband and obey him. And then they said something about purity, which even Kate made a funny face at. (There getting married because Timm knocked her up). Just about once I recovered from that shit the minister said something about looking at their parents and how they set up a model relationship for husband and wife. Yeah…. But other than that the wedding and reception went ok.
While I was up there I spent a lot of time thinking about how cool Cincy is and I would think about moving back up there. Well until Saturday night came around and plans fell through. I ended up walking around the streets surrounding the hotel. Nothing was open. I just missed the last band at some venue down the street but I imagine it was shit anyway. But it was kinda entertaining because there were a bunch of kids in the hotel because at the convention center across the street was some Anime convention. So I saw a bunch of kids dressed up in some crazy ass outfits. I think the best part about those people was seeing the haggard ass moms that accompanied them.
And Sunday was a blast. If you like leaving late and getting stuck in traffic for almost 2 and a half hours. Starting at 11pm. Yeah Jon called me and left a message around 6 maybe saying that outside of Atlanta on 75 there was a semi that flipped over and they got held up for like 45 mins. We were all thinking that sucks for them, good thing we left late cause it will be cleared up by the time we get there. Nope… at first we moved pretty well then it came to a stand still for about an hour. I imagine this was the time they were moving the semi off the road because eventually it opened up all of a sudden. It was funny watching people walk in the woods for a min and come back. Good thing I didn’t have to pee cause I woulda had to do the same thing. Some people even just opened both doors on one side and pissed in the middle so no one could see. But even funnier was when we actually started to move seeing all kinds of wet spots in the road. It had to be the worst traffic jam I’ve ever been in. From mile marker 298 to 306 was bumper to bumper and eventually not moving at all.
But today was cool, didn’t have to work, washed the car, and ate some tasty sandwich.
Well hope you had fun and killed like an hour or so!
