No fan of Clinton, I just worry that Obama, even if he does win the election, isn't strong enough to stop the bleeding either.
Plus it's by no means certain that he'd win. He is still black, he is still too widely misapprehended as not-Christian, and the right wing punditocracy has been so relatively nice to him that either they see him as easy pickings versus the GOP candidate, or they think he'll be an asset to furthering their agenda one way or another.
I'm still not a registered Democrat, so this ain't my fight anyhow.
There Clinton enthusiasts. In fact there are a lot of them. They are the "Soccer Moms," the yuppies, and the other folks that the DLC has courted for years. In particular, there are a large number of boomer women who loooooove Hillary Clinton with the same sort of passion that folks in Washington DC used to show to Marion Barry. She _IS_ them.
I happen to agree that Clinton is more likely to lose than Obama, especially against McCain. Hillary supporters continually underestimate the sheer strength of her negatives even in the Democratic party. But I do not discount the 20% or so of the core democratic ticket that genuinely worship her and believe that those who do not "hate strong women."

Even if there really are that many of them, they'll vote Democratic in November whoever the candidate is, so I'm not worried.

I'm more worried about Latinos going for McCain, but can't do nothing about that.
