Brian didn't want to deal with the fallout just yet of their vampire roommate discovering that he was trying to lead Sylar back down the path of darkness

[The sound of Brian's voice sent Sylar bounding -- okay, maybe not bounding -- down the stairs to the kitchen. It wasn't really about the kill for him. Not completely. He didn't need Claire, and he was determined to show it to her. To himself. Maybe Brian was the one he was really supposed to be getting the answers from. Okay, so maybe he freaked out with Spike, but this time was going to be different. This time was going to be better.

He didn't need anything in particular. Just his jacket. One of the benefits of being a human weapon.]
