Sometimes you have to forget about whats "important". The homework, the income, the applications, put it out of your mind. Take care of yourself first. My parents call me selfish and lazy, i just have different priorities. A different frame of mind. How can I sit there and fill out college applications if there is another aspect of my life

Your parents arent trying to set applications as your first priority because that should be the most important thing to you now, but they dont want to see you years from now as a bum. Its not always what you want to do, its what you have to do to be happy for the majority of the time you're on the planet. Yeah you can eat all the candy now and have fun, but down in the line of time you're gonna regret it for a much longer time.
