I have come to believe that it is time to give up on the original meaning of the phrase "beg the question." Outside of philosophy classrooms, it is overwhelmingly more likely to be used to mean "raises the question" than "commits a fallacy of presumption." And looking at the meanings of component words, it's easy to see how this phrase would apply
