4th Submergence

The sound of thunder and an earthquake that leads to the birth of a mountain in a single day. There is a legend like this in my homeland, about the creation of Mt. Fuji. Although, this mountain doesn't seem quite as impressive, it is nice to be reminded of home, even a little ( Read more... )

I've heard that as well -- that the dead never return home. I can't bring myself to believe it yet.

At the very least, it's perhaps a small comfort that here we still have enough semblance of life to remember and miss the world we've left behind.

and to wonder what has become of it as a result of our leaving

Yeah, I suppose that mountain does hold a resemblance to Mt. Fuji.

[Lightly and weakly snickers.] Perhaps this place is a punishment for tainting our hands. Being at the mercy of these deities.
