Dear Chris;
I know, I should cut her some slack, she is a teenager. I just thought she would have learned that "I'm not indestructible" lesson with everything that's happened in the bar. I'm heading back in tonight, I should see her at some point; I've been in the bar quite a bit, I just haven't really seen her in the bar proper and she wasn't in her room (or wasn't answering my knock, though I didn't hear any movement). And trust me, I plan on talking with her boyfriend.
Why does it not surprise me that the trip was for work? What's the next one about--the one you're looking forward to?
I'm not sure we should meet anywhere too close to my place; for safety's sake, it should probably be somewhere unconnected with either of us. Besides, I'm not sure how much you really want to see the snow we have around here in February. Or the -10F cold we get (if any of my neighbours ask me "so, cold enough for you?" with a dopey smile again, I'm going to use my pickup to plough a mountain of snow in their driveways). Could we maybe make it someplace warmer? Though, if it's somewhere cold, it always gives us an excuse to stay inside and keep warm.
There's no way you're going to get this before you leave, so I hope you had a good trip, and a quiet, happy Christmas with your family.
Love,
Jack
