The Basics
• Name: Katie
• Are you over thirteen? Yes, I'm seventeen.
• How would you describe yourself? (includes strengths and flaws): I'm really quirky, independent, and free-spirited. I like handling things on my own and going my own way. I don’t hang out with a particular crowd of people, but rather with different people or just by myself all together. I am dependent on certain people in my life, but most of the time I am independent. I’m someone who stands strong with their beliefs and defend them when people question them. I voice my opinion whenever it's needed, but at many times I'm left being as quiet as a mouse. I’m a mixture of both confident and shy. Confident in the way that I carry myself, present myself, my general straight-forward attitude, and approach others. Shy in how I might not approach someone first or not want to go out and talk to someone. I’m an extroverted introvert in that way. I'm a huge dreamer and I spend a lot of my time with my thoughts far off, but feet remain on the ground. I care far more about people and their feelings then an average sane person would. I do care if someone is upset or if they’re going through a rough time and I do love to help others. Sometimes I can come across as tactless and aloof, but I do care deep down. I’m a hopeless romantic and I have so many varying beliefs on love and the concept of love that it just fascinates me to no end.
I am very stubborn and sarcastic. Often times if someone tries to convince me to do something, I won't do it. I need someone to provide good evidence that I should do it or else I won't. If it's school work, I'll do it. If it's a life decision, I might take it into consideration. I can come off as bitchy at times, but I’m in general a pretty nice person. My sarcasm can be a tad biting, but also slightly humorous in a way. I'm not a majorly sarcastic person, but I have my moments. I'm very impatient and I cannot stand waiting for something either a long period of time or just five minutes, but I am patient with people and especially children. I'm just impatient with everyday things. I’m fairly headstrong; if there is something that I want to achieve, I will work hard until I reach my goal. I'm a bit of a perfectionist in how I handle something I'm passionate about. I want it to be absolutely beautiful and flawless and sometimes I can be driven insane by it. At the same time, I'm also very indecisive. When it comes to making a small decision, I can hardly make up my mind and I usually ask for someone’s opinion before I can decide.
• What are you passionate about? I am very passionate about life, music, art, Disney, literature, and Harry Potter. I view life as something that is precious and shouldn't be taken lightly. I have many friends who scoff at the saying, 'Life is short'. It really is if you think about it. Days pass quickly and you loose touch with those you were once close with, people die, and people are born. You can change your life, but you just cannot change certain things. I love music and art because it's the way I express myself. Disney and Harry Potter are two of my absolute favourite things in the world and have been since I was little. As for literature, I love to read and learn new ideas from books. I have quite the bookshelf in my room too. I need to buy a new one sometime soon now that I think of it... Or at least get a job to buy one.
• Pet Peeves? Ignorance, arrogance, people who chew their food too loudly, when the water is left running, when I can't find something I just set down, and people who walk unbelievably slow.
• What are you not so good at? Thinking before I speak and starting conversations.
• Do you have any talents? I'm good at writing. I love to write stories and tell stories. I sing in my school's Concert Choir which is the highest choir so that says something. I paint and draw a lot and I have high hopes of becoming a visual development artist at Disney.
• How do you view love? Love and the concept of love is one of my favorite things in the world. It's such a complicated thing that really has no set definition, much like life. I've never really been in love, but I've experienced many instances of infatuation and had multiple crushes on people. I'm a hopeless romantic at heart and an eternal optimist when it comes to love. I do believe that there can be multiple soul mates for a person, multiple loves, and that you can love a person on a much different level then anyone else. Like say you love your mother, that love would be different from your lover or boyfriend. The same goes for a pet dog from your childhood that you loved. They're different forms of love and they're the reason I find love so complicated and fascinating.
• Are you more trusting or more cynical of others? I'm way to trusting.
• How do you view friendship? Friendship is possibly one of the most important things to me. I am very close to my friends. I trust them more then my family and know that they are willing to call me out if I'm being a little moody or rude. They keep me grounded and support me with everything I do. They're more so my family then my actual family.
This or That
• Determined or laid back: Determined, but I can be very laid back at times.
• Impulsive or Cautious: Impulsive
• Optimistic or Pessimistic: Optimistic
• Mature or not so mature: Mature, but I can be immature at times.
Confident or Shy: Confident
Brave or Coward? Brave
Night or Day? Night
Home or Adventure? Adventure, but home after.
What is your style in fashion? No style. I just wear whatever I'd like. It's very feminine though.
Are you more girly or a tomboy? Girly
Introverted or Extroverted: Introverted mostly, but I have my extroverted moments.
Lover or Fighter: Lover, but a fighter when called for.
What are your dreams for the future? Become a visual development artist at Disney.
What do you look for in a mate? Someone who brings out the best in me. I want a guy who sees me for who I really am, who sees past whatever exterior I may hold or anyone's opinions of me to the person beneath that. I just want a guy who treats me well and likes surprises and to laugh.
If you could change one thing about you, what would it be? Normally I would say nothing, but now that I think about it I would really like to develop the ability to think before I speak. I usually just shout out my opinion without giving it any thought whatsoever. That's mainly in real life though. What I love about the internet is that I can think of something before I reply to it. Much more useful to me.
A quote/lyric/song/saying that's important to you? "Do what you feel in your heart to be right- for you'll be criticized anyway. You'll be damned if you do, and damned if you don't."- Elinor Roosevelt
