I had to go look this up, and it does sound fascinating and entertaining. With five regular cast members dead, and Danmarks Radio apparently uninterested in pursuing it further, though, it does look pretty hopeless.

For whatever it's worth, Stephen King's Kingdom Hospital may offer some solace, being largely based on Riget.

It was fascinating, entertaining, funny and downright bizarre. I watched the whole series over two consecutive weekends about 10 years ago. The first four episodes were on DVD, and the second were shown in two segments over two days at Cinestudio. No five-hour edit, pal - I sat through the whole freakin' thing. And I was hooked. Everybody at Cinestudio was hooked. On the second day at Cinestudio, things were coming to an increasingly weird head, everyone was riveted, couldn't wait to see how this was going to turn out. When we were suddenly confronted with those dreaded three words TO BE CONTINUED... Man, you never heard such an outraged squawking in your life. I never got over it. If you could round up the other audience members from that day, they'd probably tell you that they're not over it, either ( ... )
