Was one of the things on your scavenger hunt an ugly hat?

Okay, you know what? When the book I've been scouring the internets for (and found one copy for $100 that apparently sold between when I'd bookmarked it and now) suddenly turns up on Amazon used in very good condition for $14? I AM BUYING THAT SUCKER.

It's even a first edition. I AM EXCITE.

Today is a good day to die buy books. :DDDD ( Read more... )

Thank you! It's a Nikon Coolpix S6200~ I'm still learning my way around it a bit, but it has some nice features!

It's a book by Robert Leckie that has been out of print numerous times, it seems. The last printing was in 2001 or something like that and there still are no new copies to be found! BUT the one I found was an original printing from 1960!

Whoa, 1960?? Dang, nice catch :0

I ask about the camera mostly because I may eventually be in the market for a new one. After realizing that the camera on my new phone has twice the MP rating as my ancient little camera (and seeing what everyone else seems to be able to do with their cameras), I feel a little inadequate with this one :/ In case I go on any other cool trips, y'know?

Yes! Actually, one of my prized possessions is his autobiography, which was only printed in one run in 1958. I paid $50 for that, but it was SO WORTH IT. I could not stop smiling the whole time I read it~

Well, the Coolpix is definitely nice, though I also like my old camera, which is a Sony CyberShot - in fact, I'm not getting rid of it just because I have the new one. Cameras definitely change quickly, but I've had that CyberShot for years (at least seven) and I still don't feel like it's out of date. It's a 10.1 Megapixel camera, so it might not be quite as sharp as some of the newer stuff (the Coolpix is something like 16?) but it's still great~

One nice thing about the live christmas trees that we get is that the foliage underneath is too thick for the cats to get up in. It doesn't stop them from tipping over the tree, but it keeps them out of it.

You know, I've never had a live Christmas tree! D: Though somehow I don't think I'd doubt my cats' ability (or at least desire) to get up in that, either. XD But it's something to consider, if it keeps your cats off of it... Mine haven't bothered this one too much, so I'm hopeful it'll stay that way!

Yay for hard-earned book acquisitions! I've been looking for certain books for years and whenever one of them pops up somewhere I'm like, "MUST HAVE NOW."

Yay also for Christmas trees and decorations! I'm sure the landscapers working on your house will enjoy the lights. XD

YES! Oh man, it's like hunting and hunting and then finally finding something and it's so exciting! ESPECIALLY because the difference between $100 and $14 is so large. XD

Hee, that's true. One of these days I'll get those outside lights up!
