Thoughts on tonights SPN.

My suspension of disbelief broke during this episode.  First off, someone spoiled me apparently a different episode, so I went into it excited about the spoiled concept and was confused.

Anywayz.

Dean-o, stop with the multiple personalities.  Please.  You're like Sybil now and I have no idea how you're going to act.  If you started this season all broken and guilt-ridden I'd be okay with it, but coming out of Hell acting like, well, Dean, just makes this sudden turn-around confusing.  It sort of feels like the season is out of order.

Also, did it never occur to Dean that some people who go to Hell were... you know... bad people?  I hate to say it but come on.  Maybe he should google some names, figure out which sociopathic serial killers he had down there.  I still tend to cover my ears and shout "lalalalalaa" whenever he says anything about Hell because, really, I'm sorry, but time is a cultural construct that has been imposed to bring order to our chaotic world and is usually governed by the rise and fall of the sun.  In Hell there would be no rise and fall of the sun, no way to gauge time.  I won't begrudge him saying that it felt like 40 years, but to suggest that the Clock-o-Hell was up on the wall ticking off the hours is bizarre.

Also, the torture he references is just so... so... human.  One would think Hell could come up with something that couldn't happen to someone while they were alive.  I usually remember the story about the man who when he went to Hell was presented with a beach house and a boat and all sorts of toys, but no one to use them with, and he would just be there alone surrounded by all of the material things he had wanted in life for eternity, finally realizing what he really should have wanted was people.  Some suggested that Dean had just seen evil!Sam 24/7 and I think that would've been appropriate - Dean's greatest failure in his face forever?  Yeah, that would've been something.  A rack?  Not so much.  Also, John Winchester - 1200 years, jus' sayin...

OK, back to this episode.  My suspension of disbelief broke because of the MOTW being human.  A human who conceivably could talk, understood her own imprisonment, and had lived in the wall her whole life.  Did she ever wash?  If she didn't she would've gotten a bacterial infection and died, but she didn't look very cleanly, and neither did her hidey-hole.  How did she managed to carry all of the stuff from the Impala's trunk?  Indeed - how did she get it open?  Why did she open it?  Wouldn't she have wanted these people gone?  If she was sentient enough to know she didn't want them there, then why prevent them leaving?  How long has she been consuming raw meat?  Um... worms and bacterial infection anyone?  Also the random brother?  They never explained that twist.

And Dean - going into the narrow wall passageways to search for the person trying to kill you without bringing a good weapon?  Wow that was totally smart.  I'm really awfully surprised that she managed to sneak up on Ted and gank him.

I just think that the show has been tanking for a while, and with the mytharc not really gellin' this season, and with the fifth most likely being the last, I really feel like every episode should count.  It's a bit disappointing to be presented with a mediocre episode in the middle of a penultimate mediocre season.

One more thing - Sammy, could you wash your hair, style it the correct way, and then go hog some screentime please?  Pretty please?

Another thing Dean, the "what do you know about Hell" line?  That gets you demerits, evil demerits!  I'm gonna go finish that Sammy fic that you gueststar in for all of three paragraphs now, and I won't even feel guilty about your lack of face time!  AND I'm gonna make sure your ass gets handed to you in the fic after that!  So hah!
