Heroes Review.
Daphne-death aside, I was pleased with this episode. Why, you ask?
ANDO and HIRO FTW. I loved Ando's reaction to Hiro's confession about his mother. The "Why didn't you tell me?!" just got me. I so love those two. I was concerned after Hiro realized that he couldn't teleport that he would leave Ando behind (because you never know with these writers...) but he didn't! He even went and got a wheelbarrow to roll him away in! And if that wasn't lulz worthy I don't know what was. But why can't he teleport anymore? I would be okay with him not time-traveling, since that makes my head hurt, but he should be able to travel through space at least. Well maybe next week... Plus, the akachan was so cute! (Heroes is the only time outside of class that I get to put my Japanese skillz to good use, so I enjoy when they speak slowly enough for me to catch some words. I did pretty good tonight, actually.) If they had to give anyone on that show a baby for a side-kick I'm glad it was Ando and Hiro. But still - Janice, why did you tell Matt the baby wasn't his? Jerk.
I did sort of like that Tracy was Tracy. I was surprised she paused long enough to help Matt and Mohinder, cause really, she just wanted to get out of there (and who could blame her, holy muscle-cramps, batman!). Though I'm issuing a wag of my finger at Mohinder for not yanking a tube out of any other random mutant's nose. Solidarity, brother! Anyway, Tracy totally bailed on them as expected. HRG's "you should've stayed with Parkman" thing had me rolling my eyes, like what's Tracy gonna do at the hospital with Dumb, Dumber, and Daphne anyway? I was glad that the saleslady checked up on Tracy after HRG went in, cause in retail that's a major no-no and cause for a call to security (and then if he gets arrested, the person who called gets a prize, yay!). Really she should've called security anyway, because HRG's story was not convincing. They didn't even come in together!
Moving on, it was Micah? Wow, I was totally thinking no. But I like Micah, I like a show with a ridiculously overlarge cast actually using some of their pre-established characters instead of creating new ones, and I think this Rebel stuff fits in with Micah's desire to become a superhero. Also, it explains why he was so determined to save Tracy. He is her nephew after all. (I hope Barbara is warmer though, I still miss Niki).
So... are those guys in the garage dead? Tracy turns things in to ice, like transubstantiation except not blood to wine obvs. So did she just take the easy route and turn the water into ice? That does seem easier than turning the dudes into ice. In which case HRG should go get a pick-axe and bust them free. As for Tracy - is she dead? I thought I saw her blink at me after she was shot. And I imagine her particles coming back together in the sewer like Sandman. Maybe I'm just crazy. Thoughts?
Angel Petrelli = super special awesome. That whole deal with having her premonition and evading the agents was so cool. She was just so calm about it (see Mohinder, do not needlessly sacrifice yourself, just stroll away.) So who called her number anyway? Did Danko just not like her? I suppose that could be. But seriously, I mean *I* know that she's a dangerous woman, but does he? Peter's rescue was hilarious. I think he's just enjoying sticking it to the agents since he keeps showing his face before he takes off. It's such an elementary school move, but I enjoy it. How did he know she was there though? Is he just flying around NYC searching for his mommy? Or did he stick a tracker on her or something? Or maybe Micah found the time to send him the location while he ran away. Who knows? Hah and Angela thought Peter wouldn't be her bestest son foreverest anymore.
Who have I forgotten? Hmmm SYLAR. WTF, he was in the apartment last week and I was ready for some head slicing. But nooooo he's going to go for the whole alliance bit again, isn't he? And so what, he's just going to deliver Danko the mutants he doesn't like and doesn't want the powers of (srsly, why does he keep passing up the puppet power?)? I was glad to have an episode without him, I must say. As everyone else's powers become more manageable his become exponentially unmanageable. ::sigh::
Oh right, Daphne and Matt. I still don't like Matt, it's just not happenin'. And the writers are evil. I mean really, we all think she's dead, then they reveal that she's alive, we celebrate, then they bust her out just in time to kill her for realz. Where the eff was Claire?! The one time this season she could've actually been useful! Damn you Nathan, fly her over to the hospital right now! We need regenerative blood on the double! Really, if HRG gets brought back to life, and Mohinder gets a second lease, and Ali Larter gets another character, and Sylar survives being stabbed through the abdomen then Daphne deserves to live! ::cries::
Oh no, this is ending on a bad note so... Yay Hiro and Ando! Many happy returns, gents, plz to be in every episode nao. Cold Daddy and Warm Mommy need to take care of baby touch-and-go, and then ressurect Daphne and become the OT4. Fo' realz.
Oh and also this line was a total win "You look like you were mugged and the first thing they took was your dignity."
