Actually posting!

Biggest reason is that I watched The Wandering Earth this weekend, and LOVED IT. It's Chinese, and I watched it in Mandarin with english subtitles. Such a good disaster film. It even made me cry at one point, and I didn't hate it. lol I was even thinking about it the next day (during church, when I was supposed to be ( Read more... )

You would have been proud of me this year, as the mother of pediatric patients. I knew Mags needed a physical to be able to start band and she was coming due, and it had to be after April 1st to count, so I made her appointments (regular pediatrician and pediatric cardiologist) early. Her cardiologist is based in Temple but comes down here one the last Wednesday of every month, and they fill up fast, so I scheduled her for the last Wednesday in April and then happened to get her regular checkup on the same day, so it was a total win. And then Ty needed a physical for all the camps he went to (those were in July) so we made his appointments in early May so we could get him in in June.

Tyler is going to have to switch to a family practice doc in November when he turns 18, but Will, Luke and I all see the same one, so that should be easy enough. Mags has until May of 2024 so we'll make sure we get in one last cardiologist appointment with her current doc before her 18th birthday and she has to transfer to a regular cardiologist

Isn't it so much better with subtitles? Dubbing freaks me right out/makes me laugh, which is obviously distracting lol

Dunk a priest! LOL! Oh my gosh what fun ^-^

lol I usually choose subtitles over dubbing just so I can hear how it was meant to be. Sometimes, though, I am also doing something else, and it's so easy to miss lines with subtitles.

It was fun. And the kids did so well!

Boy, I hear you on the flies. The few that aren't there are here with me. Best of luck with the donor drive. Having lived through many of them at the theatre, I know right where you are coming from. Everyone has grand ideas, but only a few actually seem to do all the work. I will keep good thoughts for you.

Maybe I'll send you some more flies...;)

Thanks. I really appreciate it.

That film looks really good, I love a good end-of-the-world story... Only trouble with subtitles is that I miss half the picture!

Shiny new saddle? What did you get?

Choir started again last Wednesday for practice and Sunday for service. He had us do two anthems and an introit. Start big, I guess. It feels nice when everyone is happy to have us back.

Our choir will be back (I assume still masked) in a few weeks. Looking forward to it.

We had a weird fly invasion right before we went away... screen must have been ajar somewhere. Thankfully they vanished by the time we get back. Of course we had the screenless Air BnB in between so we had no lack of bugs.

Crazy, huh? And they were mostly newer (Andersen) high-end crank windows, which I know (because I helped build houses) are shipped with screens. What did he do with them?

Hmm....used them for an illegal screen printing business run out of the outhouse.
