The U.S. women's team just won the gold medal in soccer. That's spelled s-o-c-c-e-r and g-o-l-d.

Actually, I think it's really cool that women's soccer is in the Olympics. It's gaining popularity here but is still virtually unrecognised compared to the male side of the sport, which is a crying shame. Good for the girls. :)

Women's soccer in the US seems to have more popularity then the men's. Which is cool since once you get out of college there are limited opportunities for professional women's sports.

That's so cool. It's still totally eclipsed by men's soccer here. Not that I have anything against men's soccer, but it's a fun game to play and it's a shame the women don't get much recognition.
