I must confess bemusement and cynicism regarding the latest flaring of internet drama.  Issues which should have been laid to rest years ago are now dancing across my screen again.

Some five years ago, a few people claim to have been hoodwinked into believing RPG characters were real.  Some claim to have parted with money.  Others claim to have ( Read more... )

Amen! Someone recently contacted me about the old forums asking if I had been part of them. I said yes, but that I was no longer, nor had any intentions of being a part of them. I am not into the dramas. Can't tolerate it.

Forums all are nothing but drama magnets.

I told this person that I thought they should learn to put the past in the past and move on. They got pissed. lol

Oh, my. This sounds like an excellent opportunity to indulge my penchant for schadenfreude. Can you recommend any links?

Interesting post, especially given the cast of characters that has recently been re-assembled. I wasn't aware you were a part of that group...or is that part of your mystery, dear Adam? I do enjoy a good shadowy mystery. ;)

The most compelling part of a rpg drama is when those portraying the characters lose that line between fantasy and reality.

I wandered through many of these forums, years ago. Some were fun, in all truth.

Compelling, yes. A form of mutual entertainment.

Spiderman, Spiderman,
Does whatever a spider can
Spins a web, any size,
Catches thieves just like flies
Look Out!
Here comes the Spiderman.

Is he strong?
Listen bud,
He's got radioactive blood.
Can he swing from a thread
Take a look overhead
Hey, there
There goes the Spiderman.

Hold on a minute! This whole time I was thinking you were Spiddy. Damn!

As I have told several literary characters who have recently contacted me: "I am delusional, but not so far gone that I accept that a fictional character created an LJ, FB profile, MSN, etc..."

Of all ghosts, the ghosts of our old loves are the worst.
SIR ARTHUR CONAN DOYLE, The Memoirs of Sherlock Holmes

Old ghosts are fairly easy to lay to rest, unless they go all zombie on ya and start rising from the dead (like they do)

but Whac-A-Mole is a fun game, no?
Everyone needs a hobby.

Love the Conan Doyle quote; most apt.

Zombies eat their own brains, don't they? That might explain much.
