Non-Crazy Conservatives

Sometimes in the mornings I listen to Chris Core on WMAL. He does a conservative radio call in show here in DC. When I do listen, it's usually to get a different point of view than I'd get talking to most of my friends, etc. I haven't dismissed him totally because even when people disagree with him he's polite and doesn't attack them personally

I was reading the Christian Science Monitor article just to see what they had to say. They also implied that it wouldn't be a problem. What really pisses me off is when people say the only reason to get married is to have kids. So if you were a man and woman and either couldn't or choose not to have kids then you shouldn't get married.

My wife is Republican and (somewhat) conservative also, but an "old school" conservative and agrees with this also -- we have more important issues to worry about!

I thought republicans were supposed to be for smaller government? Then why are they screwing around passing such a law? Really, I'm sure there are much more important laws that need to be passed. Ones that deal with some of the very real challenges facing our generation.
