Invent a memory of me and post it in the comments. It can be anything you want, so long as it's something that's never happened. Then, of course, post this to your journal and see what people would like to remember of you, only the universe failed to cooperate in making it happen so they had to make it up instead.

Let's ignore the fact that you were a little getting to the party and celebrate the fact that you showed up at all.

It was a dark and stormy night. tell_oconnor May 14 2005, 09:28:36 UTC
Oooh, oooh, I remember this one time!

Oh, it's a cliche, I know, but this night just seemed to fit all the criteria. I mean, nights tend to be indicative of darkness - though not necessarily, say you're at one of the poles at the right time of year... But we weren't; the sun had set, there was a new moon, and the stars were entirely blocked out by the advancing black clouds which took care of the stormy side of things. Oh yes. Not by any means at the level of the tropical storm we copped the last time, but wind, rain, thunder, lightening, hail? Check, check, check, check, check.

So, there you go. By strictest definition, it was a dark and stormy night.

In your words, we were destinationally challenged - And, while in any other circumstances, I would have admired the optimtism; cold, tired, and wet through, I couldn't find any other words for it: We were lost.

How had this come to be, you might ask? Oh, yes, you would ask that, Donovan, with an oh-so-innocent earnest look on your face as though you didn't remember full well! ( ... )

Suddenly, the sundial struck midnight. tell_oconnor May 14 2005, 09:30:06 UTC
The beast was quite quickly discovered, along with the ball snuggled unharmed between its paws. The thing seemed to be asleep again, and you charitably offered me the honour of retrieving its prize.

I graciously refused.

So, you know, there followed this tense moment in which you sidled up to it, gently extracted the ball, and began to slink back...

And then came the inevitable snapping of the fatal twig.

Only, this time, it wasn't actually a physical twig, it was Tim roaring into the radio and demanding to know where we'd run off to.

In any case, it had the same effect as a twig, in that it startled the creature into wakefulness.

A chase ensued, only letting up when the animal (which was apparently some kind of narcoleptic) dropped down snoring again, and when we were hopelessly lost.

Which brings us to the initially described situation.

The sun had set, the weather was having its fun and wreaking havoc with out radios. So we were left in the dark both literally and figuratively.

It was also here that I discovered exactly ( ... )

Yes ... at least we kept Elise happy.

OOC: hee, thankye! It was most enjoyable to write. *grins*

...I suppose. Certainly, you got it back to her room before she could realise it was missing. But from the slops you and Tim were eating for dinner for the next week and a half, I get the feeling Elise might have suspected something. It could have had something to do with the tooth marks... and the luminescent saliva...
