Poor Karin; can't catch a break anywhere. I'm betting she is capable of being much, much more persistent and annoying than this; why isn't she pnning Ishida to the ground and refusing to let him up till she gets answers?

And oh man, you and Renji. Though that is the most fun thing about writing fanfiction--treating the characters you most despise with the contempt they most deserve. So Renji's all scarred up now, huh? Couldn't Unohana or Orihime or somebody fix those? Or are they a memorial?

I was happy to see Chad being level-headed and sensible--and powerful too, that's nice! His manner of speech is extraordinarily formal--is that how he usually talks in the manga, and I never noticed? Or is that a style choice? Just wondering.

Yeah, Karin probably could be doing more. That's why I gave her some guilt about harassing the two when they keep on protecting her and Yuzu. I was worried about her being too overbearing, so I wanted her to show a sense of honour. Albeit, a somewhat twisted, definitely immature sense of honour

I know a little Japanese (not enough to consider myself fluent), but from what I gathered, most of his lines weren't unusually stiff Japanese speech, like what I was taught in school. If any character speaks closest to that sort of speech, it'd probably be Byakuya, from his upbringing.

I actually didn't notice Chad's speech patterns, but that line where he rubs his throat from speaking more than usual made me LOL.

Oh, wow, you weren't kidding when you said things pick up this chapter. There's so much, from Chad and Urahara (I love that he wants to master his power, although I feel like of bad for Urahara--he'll have his work cut out for him fixing that basement! LOL) to Renji holding a grudge about Ichigo, which I'm positive has to do with something he did to Rukia.I can't wait to see more about him

Things should only get more tense from here on out, as I approach the climax, which isn't for a while yet...buildup is good, yes?

I generally hate accents. Or written accents (everybody has an accent, technically). There's this popular Eva fic that I can't read because the author uses really heavy accents all the time and I couldn't stand it. In writing, I think it's better to use slang or make very slight alterations to speech

Oh, definitely. I was just happy to see these two interact at all, because their personalities would butt heads quite often, I'd imagine. But you gotta admit, it'd be fun to see Ichigo's head explode if any of his friends dated either of his sisters.Someone at badfic quotes wrote out how it would play out if that happened. ;)

Speaking of Renji, there was a line about him and Ichigo having similar builds. Is that to indicate he's lost a lot of weight over the years, because Ichigo and Renji look way, way different from each other (or maybe it's Renji's height that make him look bigger than he really is). *is unsure*

You're right about Renji and Ichigo having different builds, as I since checked out. Fortunately, I can say the mistake is Karin's since it's her PoV. But seriously, I'll probably change that paragraph ever so slightly.

And newest chapter will be up in a few hours, after I get off from work. Always need to do more last-minute revisions.

The Speshull Kids are slipping a bit in the funny, their falling out of a tree was lulz, but it's pissing me off that Karin already knows so much and they're still not telling her the truth.

Renji going into 'bankai' just like that was kinda O_o - just that bankai releases a lot of reiatsu and you need permission to come to the Earth and fight, and I'm just being a nerd, it's all for the fic I suppose.

Hmm, I knew from the beginning that Ishida and Orihime would get less funny. How it goes.

Renji does have permission to use Bankai, actually...He's under special circumstances, which I will explain more briefly in Chapter VII. Though he is abusing his priviliges; he's showing off in this chapter, for one thing.

...And yeah, I had him do it because Bankais are cool.

The results of Chad's training resemble Sannosuke's uber move, although the method behind Chad's rock crushing is pretty different. In that respect, I'm ripping more off of DBZ.
