Last Year: A Tribute

Jul 21, 2008 14:15

Around this time, last year, my HHr-shipping heart finally broke. It has mended since then, but of course, it will never be the same.  I love my HHr fandom, and I do believe that it will remain my OTP for a long time, if not forever. They could've been so PERFECT. Too bad JKR didn't agree.

Anyway, in tribute to the sinking of our beloved ship, I ( Read more... )

Awwww :(

Isn't it sad that a year later, I don't even care any more that JKR wasn't smart enough to pair H/Hr? I just don't. I love the world she created; I continue to play in her sandbox, in my RPG. But I don't care enough about HP any more to be really fussed about JKR's inability to see what was between the lines she wrote. Whatev's:)

I think I've pretty much stopped caring about anything JKR says after that annoying interview. My love for the ship will exist with or without her blessing. XD

Yeah, I knew OBHWF was coming before DH came out, so I wasn't too heartbroken. Plus I'd learnt to appreciate quite a few ships that aren't even close to canon. LOL! H/Hr came closer than any other, though, and I'm just very wistful because she didn't let her characters go where they wanted to go and in writing, you should always do that. I think she had preset notions of OBHWF but didn't expect Harry and Hermione to click so well. And they do -- even in DH! That's why I could never abandon fandom or HP in general. DH gave them a lot of material to build from even though she tacked that horrid epilogue on there.

H/Hr will always be my OTP. I still give her credit for writing an amazing series. She could have done better, but I don't want to slam her writing even though my ship didn't happen. Overall, I kind of liked DH a lot, heh. And when it comes to fanon, I just ignore the epilogue. Like my RPG does. *grin*

I was 99% sure HHr wasn't going to happen, actually, and as far as heartbreak went after DH, my hurt was pretty minor. I think the finality of it was the biggest factor, though. I was hoping against hope that JKR would end it open-shipped. I mean, I don't care if H+G and RHr were dating in book 7, so long as they weren't married 19 years later, you know? While the drive to write fanfiction is still there in spite of the crapilogue, I have to admit that some of my galloping enthusiasm and the fantasy world I lived in died a bit, and I find writing fanfiction for HHr wasn't as fluid as it used to be for me.

But there were tons of good times before DH dropped the ball. I will never forget that.

Woh! Drama, man!

Hah, exactly, that's the thing -- I didn't mind the last chapters of the book itself. It was fairly open-ended, overall. Harry didn't even go find Ginny after the battle, for god's sake. The epilogue just spoiled it, and not even in a well-written way. LOL.

But hey, at least Harry and Hermione are still alive. Those poor Snupin shippers!

:P

HBP? DH?
The Harry Potter world ended for me after OotP.
I'm still waiting for the last book to come out with H/Hr together in the end. ^.^

Wow! the girl actually burned the book HAHAHA that post is awesome! I bookmarked that :D

I´m not entirely sad about the crap JK wrote. I mean it´s not in my power to change it and I feel so happy when people post h/hr stuff or comment in h/hr posts I make. And I feel even happier to know that there´s great fanfics to read. :D
