I've put up some thoughts on pooling resources to provide high-quality Internet hosting. Who would be interested in paying to be involved with a group like the one I describe? The monthly cost to be shared among all users would probably be around $50, plus whatever is necessary to pay sysadmins.

I've often been accused of "taking things too seriously." The people who make the accusation tend not to be able to define exactly what they mean, but examples of things I "take too seriously" tend to include political philosophy, programming languages, all things academic, etc.. I've signed up with LJ while in a burst of updating for my web site. This comes in the midst of settling in as I have moved from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Berkeley, California.
