Alright, if Barack Obama were the exact same person he is now, but either white or a Republican, you never would have heard of him. You know it's true. So all of this talk of 'being a uniter' and being 'above partisanship' and 'it doesn't matter that he's a Democrat' is bullshit really. All the people jumping on the 'change' bandwagon would have ( Read more... )

To quote a line from an Oscar Wilde play, Obama "talks more and says less than anybody I ever met."

'Course I never met him.

not at all. he's simply the lesser of two evils on the democratic side, and the lesser of three evils when mccain enters the picture, as clinton and mccain both are guilty of an absurd amount of double-talk, saying one thing one minute, and the completely opposite thing within the next day/hour/minute. the most (deliberately?) ironic part of it all being that mccain dubbed his bus the 'straight talk express'

i suppose i could try the same fallacious argument on for size and counter with "you're only voting for hillary because she's a woman" or "you're only voting for mccain because he's white/republican"

also, there's this

further evidence, as if any reasonable human being needed any, of clinton being less a person who does something because it's for the greater good (of the individual or the country) and more for image, for reputation, to make an impression.

good job @ ruining a rape victim's life so you could impress the men of the arkansas court system, hillary. clearly you care about women's and children's issues, not just advancing your career at any cost.

clearly.

If I "know it's true" then sure, that must be the reason!

But, on a more serious basis, the candidates are all pretty much non-entities. Who cares if they're black, female, or geriatric?

It's just a shitty reason, that's all. Democrats and liberals love to take pride in their acceptance/tolerance/equality thing and so voting for a black man (or a woman for that matter) for president just makes them feel so much more awesome.

You'd be amazed at how well Al Sharpton actually did do.
