---Day 1 of the transit strike has cost me $16.50 so far. I took a cab uptown to work and it cost $12 plus I gave the dude a $3 tip because he dropped me off on time for work. My boyfriend, Dave's, brother had to work something like 40 blocks to work. I think he works in Soho (At the apple store) and lives ridiculously far away. Good luck coping with the transportation issues!!
