WTF is going on today?

On my way to work every day I drive past Meijer. Today, something strange was going on there. When I drove by, there was a handful of people on the roof, standing near the edge looking down over the parking lot, which had far fewer cars than normal. That sounds extrondinarily weird. you should see if there are any news reports of it.

I haven't seen anything. It's getting weirder, though; the power has flickered a couple times, and I keep hearing sirens on and off in the distance.
