Fans Campaign for Adam Lambert to Sing at 2012 Super Bowl
by Renee Snyder
@ Celebs.Gather An Adam Lambert fan has set up a "Twitition" (a petition through Twitter) in support of Adam singing the national anthem at the 2012 Super Bowl. The petition is being circulated on Twitter and Facebook to spread the word to Glamberts everywhere. As stated on
the petition, Adam is the perfect choice to sing the national anthem at the 2012 Super Bowl. Not only is he an international superstar, but he was born in Indianapolis, the city hosting the game this year. Also, the timing is ideal, since Adam has just released his new single, which should explode on the radio this month. To get a taste of Adam singing the national anthem, check out the video below taken at Mirmar Naval Base in San Diego during Adam's American Idol hometown visit in 2009.

Adam is already on the radar of the Super Bowl host committee. Recently, the Indy Super Bowl tweeted to Adam, "Hey, @adamlambert! Will you be joining us in your #hometown for Super Bowl XLVI?" However, all game entertainment, including the national anthem singer, is determined by the NFL. The Super Bowl host committee says that they do pass fan perspectives and recommendations to the NFL, so you never know, the petition could have some impact.
Those that have sung the national anthem at the Super Bowl in the past include top artists such as Christina Aguilera, Beyoncé, Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston, among others. Also included in the list is American Idol alumni Carrie Underwood, Jordin Sparks and Jennifer Hudson. Will Adam be the latest American Idol artist to experience this honor? If you want Adam Lambert to sing the national anthem at Super Bowl XLVI, be sure to sign the Twitition, and share it with everyone you know!
