This is the first time I've typed on LJ in years. But I couldn't resist with this post. At nearly 25, I've been out of high school for almost 7 years. In hindsight, I don't remember most of it, and I was never on any type of drugs or anything like that. But when you get out there in the world and let go of a lifestyle like the living-at-home one so fast, high school tends to become nothing more than a distant memory. For those who jump into college right out of high school, I think it's harder to break from the routine of socializing as part of the process. I don't agree with high school being the best years of my life; they certainly weren't the worst, either. They just seem like something I had to do, so I did it. It was neither a blast or disheartening.
