I agree with you. 12 weeks is long enough in most circumstances and why aren't women taking responsisility for themselves. It's not just pregnancy they risk. Likewise men should be keeping themselves free of disease and free of unwanted children.

Thanks. I can understand in countries where it's hard to get good methods of contraception or any at all but there is no excuse in britain.

Good! I didn't doubt it. :-)

It's really time they started to listen to what people want.

No doubt most of the voters would have been men with a few hard-faced childless women who view children as a burden not a blessing.

There is no justification for leaving it at 24 weeks and the very idea that the government is going against the feelings of most of te British public makes my blood boil.

I don't know a single person who doesn't want it to drop by at least 4 weeks.

Where do they draw a line because women can give birth and have a four year old only to find hubby having an affair and that their job is through. I would vote 12 weeks with you. I have a hard time accepting abortion at all unless a matter of life, death, rape or severe disability. When are women going to take responsibility for their own bodies? The Brit government certainly aren't getting that message over.

Me neither.

I agree with all of your points. There is no excuse in britain for unwanted pregnancies except for a very rare few that get past the barriers.
