This was a bad idea. She knew that before she ever got in her truck and made the drive over to the Cullen's house. A really, really bad idea. Then again, Bella was infamously known for doing things that she probably shouldn't.

She knocked on the door with the resolve that part of her reason for coming by was to see Emmett and Jasper. They'd been friends to her even when Edward had been long gone. Maybe she hadn't exactly been by to see any of them in.. a while, but they'd been hurt. She was concerned.

Except all of that concern flew out the window when the door swung open and suddenly a chill ran up ran up Bella's spine when she saw him standing there n front of her. Not some illusion or trick her mind was playing on her. She could have reached out and touched his icy face if she'd wanted.

There was just one problem. She had no idea what she was supposed to say.

Visitors outside of the family. Yeah, ouch. She stood there staring at him like he was some stranger. Well, partly. The other part felt so at home here that she never wanted to leave and she'd bang on his chest with her fists to try and convince him to stay. Why was it that he has this kind of effect on her after nearly a year?

So it was like Alice said. He was here for a while until they didn't need him anymore and then he would be gone. It wasn't until he forced out the word "boyfriend" that Bella wanted to smack him.

What? He could leave just like that but him coming back after a year and he could be jealous she wasn't sitting around like the dead person she had been anymore?

"You really have some high opinion of yourself, you know. Just because I came here when I found out you were back doesn't mean you were imposing on me." So what if it did bring back all those memories, good and bad, but he was the one who'd left for twelve months ( ... )
