Well, I don't have any deadlines forcing me to make decisions yet, but I have a lot to consider on a couple issues. I always like to poll the invisible robot friends lobby, and no one's ever on irc when i have time to flop around online, so let me lay out the info and see what you think. When are you going to be in MI?

I'll be in Ann Arbor for like 12 hours in a little over a week. :D

I wish I had some coherent advice, but I don't. You've done an excellent job of laying out the pros and cons. If you're really stuck, I suppose you could provide numeric scores to each pro and con and add up the results.

But I will say this: remembering back over your journal, you have been unhappy in your current location. And I believe in your ability to control an unruly class on your own.

For the embassy JET thing - I say that unless someone tells you they are free on Wednesday during the day to hang with you that going for the cash and the resume builder would be a good option. I just know that I have turned down things like that in the past when i came home to visit and then sat on my ass at home or spent money I didn't have someone by myself waiting for everyone to get off from work ( ... )

go for kyoto! and I think time rather than $ is more important when you're in the US but it depends how broke you are?

I'm afraid i will be in Seattle the evening of the 16th. I'll be in Ann Arbor from the 20th (afternoon) - 24th (morning). Please give my best wishes to Leah, and if she's around some other night, maybe we can all have a drink somewhere.
As to Burning Man or Flipside, those are very unlikely for me, unless someone wants to buy me a plane ticket. I owe my credit card over 4K$ from repeated crosspacific flights.
In a few years, possibly when i'm a poor grad student, when i'm based in north america again, i can be lured to one of these festivals.

Nice icon!
