One of the "selling points" to Job H was Starbucks ... I am willing to bet there is one in Seattle. (winks)

But from your descriptions, I still like the sound of Job A.

There is better coffee than Starbucks in Seattle.
There are also better beans in Omihachiman (Job A) than Starbucks.
But in Japan, only SB carries soymilk to put in espresso drinks. So for that, at least, they get my business.

U of M hires certified ESL teachers for their Family Housing Language Program.

ESL teachers are in demand. Yay Seattle!

I hadn't heard that they hire very often. Also, I don't have an MA, just a certificate.
I know lots of places that take volunteers, not so many that need paid teachers. But there is plenty of private tutoring work, and even subbing at language schools.
