Been busy with soap and baby.  Mostly baby though.  She is "spirited."  Some call that high-needs, some call that difficult... some call that ADD.   Anyway, she's got lots of energy.  Mommy, not so much energy.

We're getting ready for a spring break trip to San Diego in THREE WEEKS.  Anyone have any tips for traveling (flying out) with a spirited ( Read more... )

From having been flying way too many times to be natural. O_o. I'd suggest snacks and small toys. Nothing that makes too much noise cause then the other passengers get rather antsy. And some gum if she's able to have that. For her ears. The last time I flew I was next to a mother/grandmother and their toddler. And I ended up with the toddler most of the time. Heh.

She's too little to have gum yet, but I plan on bringing a bottle for her to suck on which accomplishes about the same thing. She doesn't take a pacifyer anymore or I'd bring that.
The difficult part is that she doesn't ever play with any one toy for more than about 30 seconds. lol. But books... she loves. So I'm going to bring books. She'll read the same one 20 times a day if I'll read it to her. Hope that does the trick. She never gets sleepy enough to spontaneously fall asleep so I can't hope for a nap either.

sounds like my niece and nephews when they were that age! They never went to sleep voluntarily either and seemed to run from one place to the other nonstop :)

I just hope my next child is a little more laid back.

I'd always heard parents tell their children that they'd "get it back" with thier own children... but even my mom says that I (and my sisters) were much easier than Dayna is. She has a fiery temperment and never-ending energy stores. But when she does get tired, her temper kicks in more so she just gets really grumpy.

I just don't know that I could handle TWO like that.

(And I know all children are like this time to time or to some extent... she's just ALWAYS like that)
