i don't think so... maybe on weekends? there was very little people when i was there (last wednesday) and most of them were french. pere lachaise is a lot like a park so parisiens just come there to relax. i don't think it ever gets crowded though. it wasn't crowded in 2000 either, when i was there for the first time.
