Katie. 25. Kindergarten teacher. Central Florida.
Posting this one day before the three month deadline. Life got busy. But this turned out to be a very important day in my life.

*edited to add* Uh oh. The bandwidth on my photobucket account has been exceeded. That means no pictures for a while.

Just a note- I used three different cameras this day so the sizes/quality of the pictures aren't consistent.

Ah, the wonderfulness of sleeping in! Instead of this shrieking beast waking me up at 6:15 to get ready for work I was able to stay in bed. Why? Cause I don't have to work today!

Oh the bedhead. This picture will sum up my stumbling to the bathroom, brushing teeth, and showering.

I emerge from the shower in time to say bye to my twin sister Rachael- the reason I don't have to work. She's filling in for me today running my summer camp program. My boyfriend won dinner in the castle at Disney World and he had Rachael pull some strings to get my shift covered. They are awesome.
Please please excuse the warzone of a living room.

I throw some product in my hair. It doesn't help. Today is destined to be a bad hair day. This picture will sum up hair, makeup, ironing my shirt, breakfast, and all that getting ready in the morning stuff.

My baby arrives. Everyone Matt, Matt everyone.

He brought me a soda. I document it and my outfit and manage to look as pleased as someone who... isn't pleased. But I was really happy- I swear!

And we're off! Matt makes super handsome faces.

After thirty minutes of undocumented I-4 we're in College Park. Matt tries to find the dry cleaner on his phone.

Success! Matt picks up some shirts and we are off again.

Apparently I suck at documenting because magically we are inside Universal and in line for Twister.

About two seconds after this a bucket of water drops on our head.

Damp Katie and Matt. I find out later that Rae warned Matt not to take me on any rides with water. That explains why he wanted to get out of line when they warned us of a possibility of getting slightly wet. I will regret not listening. My bangs and water are not friends.

My ability to cut our heads out of the frame is an art.

Oh, there we are. Matt's much better at this. We're in line for The Mummy.

Sillyness is what we do best.

Matt thinks we need shades to convey the seriousness of our coolness.

Then it's off to the Bettlejuice show. Yep, he's posing for us. He saw our camera, froze and held the pose until after my flash went off. :D

We head out to meet Amber for lunch. So long Universal!

Hello lunch!

Amber ran into a clothes crisis and is running late so it's just the two of us.

Part of lunch. I fail at documenting the rest.

Amber arrives! We're all done eating and about to leave but she wants to eat so we sit with her at the bar.

She buys us beverages for keeping her company.

After lunch we head out. I let Matt sit in the front since he usually gets stuck in the back and ignored.

Hello Epcot! This is why we met up with Amber- she can get us in free.

We head to Spaceship Earth (the ride in the big ball). Matt's never been to Epcot before so the rides are all new to him. Weird fact about Matt- he does not like Disney World. But he suffers through it for me and has fun.

We blast off on spaceship earth- going two miles an hour.

Future Matt has a hand growing on his face.

Action shot. Walking to Soarin'

Which has a 300 minute wait. Yeah, not happening.

That's better. Sure the land isn't the most action packed ride, but you can't beat 5 minutes.

Matt is silly and Amber laughs at him.

Ride over- we head back upstairs. Matt does what he does best- makes a silly face.

Walkin'. You can see the monorail tracks and the ball again.

We head to the Finding Nemo ride. I've never been on it before. It's pretty cool. How do they project the cartoons into the middle of the water? How?

I don't think Matt's ever been to an aquarium and looks ready to stay for hours but it's time to head out.

We emerge to find rain. My hair rebels even more.

We beat Amber to the car (she stopped to buy a soda) and I redo my makeup. Time check- it's 6:51, or 47 or something.

Monorail! We've pulled a wardrobe change. Matt looks either drunk, emotional, or tired. He looks like this is one out of five pictures. In two out of five he's closing his eyes, in one he's making a silly face, and in the other you might just find a smile. You can see the results of the battle between my hair and moisture.

The castle! We're having dinner there later.

But first we head to Space Mountain. Only to discover it's closed.

In line for Buzz Lightyear we're given a pass to carry to the end (this is the way they measure wait time for the sign). Of course we go mad with power.

The power was apparently too much for him. Matt is bummed when he realizes I cut his hand and the tag out of the picture.

Matt tries to be gangster. He fails but it's okay.

And then it's time for Matt and I to say bye to Amber and head to the castle for our dinner. Only there's a parade. And a lot of people waiting for it. And we have to walk all the way around through frontier land and fantasy land.

Almost there, it's behind the carousel.

So purty. See the middle window (behind the middle lamp post)? That's were our table is.

Waitin'

Inside and more waiting before we take our picture with Cinderella and get led up a spiral staircase (the restaurant is on the 3rd floor) to our seats.

Our table. I manage to cut out the pretty view of the carousel.

Matt poses. He seems tired and a little quiet.

I'm here too.

Matt gets a sword and I get a wand. I'm jealous- I want a sword. If I had a sword we could sword fight.

My appetizer. Matt got a fancy salad that he didn't love.

My dinner. I started to cut it up before I remembered to document. Matt gets a steak which is huge but served pretty much raw.

The lights dim and the fireworks begin to go off outside our window.

Some shoot up close, from the castle itself. Matt starts to seem frustrated that I'm spending most of my time taking pictures so I put the camera down.

Until the mouse comes over. She's doing a show with the fairy Godmother. Matt was not pleased when they came out to start the show.

Matt goes to the bathroom again. I'm cold so I drink some coffee. Matt comes back and we sit and wait for desert. Our waiter never asked what we wanted and when a covered plate comes out I know...

They make us pose for pictures and announce that I said yes to the restaurant. Applause ensues.

The plate says happily ever after. This is my "hurry up and leave so we can talk in private" smile. Which is a joke because everyone is trying to overhear our conversation anyway. haha

What I saw when the waiter lifted the cover off the plate while Matt got down on one knee. Matt's two bathroom trips, quietness (which was because he was nervous, not tired), why he was worried about me constantly taking pictures, his irritation when the fairy Godmother came out after the fireworks all makes sense. It still takes me a second to realize the contest was a fake. It's not until I read the shoe that I realize it's 6/23/09- a date we had joked about in the past. 6 is my favorite number, 23 is Matt's.

There is a serious lack of pictures here. Excitement ensues and suddenly it doesn't seem so important. We get desert to go, collect the ring box, meet up with Amber and show her the ring, go to guest services and order two prints of our pictures, ride the monorail and get on the tram in the parking lot.

This is Matt's face at 1AM in the morning after we realize we missed our stop on the tram and have to circle back, pick up another load and circle the parking lot again before making it to the car. Not pictured- Amber driving us to Matt's car, and Matt driving me home.

At home everyone is asleep but they already know. I change into PJs and post on livejournal. I checked facebook in the car and found out that all our friends know about the engagement already. I was the only one in the dark. It's a good thing I don't have internet on my phone because the whole night people were posting things like "I wish I was a fly on the wall" "Waiting for a post". haha

I try to take a good picture of the ring but this doesn't do it justice.

I review our goodies from the night. Along with the pictures I have the shoe my ring was in, the rose petals, and a pair of toasting flutes.

I finally head to bed, very very late. My alarm is set to wake me in three hours.

And I fake sleep. Goodnight ADIML!
