I can't imagine being as outgoing as you are. It's nice to see people who live very different lifestyles from your own. I also have Asperger's so it's also nice to see other autistics on here! I too have a hard time sleeping because of surrounding noise levels, but I've never tried ear plugs because I thought they might block out too much sound and I wouldn't hear my alarm going off (and not be able to get up at appropriate times). Do you find that is a problem?

that's great about adiml - seeing people not only in different places but with different lifestyles! Some people don't believe I am aspergers because I move my hand around while talking, but that is simply because I have spent a lot of my life i Italy or with Italians. My aspieness is seen in the whole way I am though, even if I am extrovert - my way to socialise is extremely direct, maybe even too much for many people. I hardly can distinguish between long-time friends and new acquaintances, I communicate like I've known everyone forever...
But then my aspieness is the most seen with my special interests and uneven talent profile, a want to be alone after being with people and my planning (when not on holiday, I schedule all my time.)
It is REALLY nice to meet others aspie on here!!! Very deightful!

With the earplugs, I just don't keep them all that deep in my ears and I put my phone's sounds on the biggest volume. This works!

I agree! I know just as many outgoing/extroverted people with an Asperger's/HFA diagnosis as introverted. Maybe even more. The difference is in the way they communicate and the ease with which social cues and body language and whatnot are interpreted. I'm going to have to try ear plugs! It's so annoying to be up all night because of noises no one else can even hear, let alone be bothered by.
