A Day in the Life of a Nun
Hello, my name is Sarah. I'm 19 years old living in Indiana. I'm currently in The Sound of Music playing a nun. This week is tech week. In the mornings I also babysit my three week old niece, Lexi.
9:59 - I'm woken up by my mom. I need to watch...
...my niece, Lexi. Her dad brought her over earlier before he went to work. My mom has been watching her, but now it's time for Mom to go to bed (she works nights), so I have to get up and take over.
10:09 AM - Lexi's in her crib sleeping, so I get on the computer. How about some music? I'm in the mood for The King and I
Email check.
10:15 - Before I can even get to my friend's list checking, Lexi wakes up and is wet and hungry.
11:00 AM - After sucking on a bottle for nearly an hour, she decides she's full. Finally.
11:40 AM - And she finally falls asleep, but I can't put her in her crib because she'll wake up again, so I have to hold her the whole time.
11:50 AM - So I watch a rerun of Gilmore Girls. Oooh, Michael York. I like Michael York.
12:25 PM - It's time to take Lexi home, so I put her down while I go get dressed.
Yucky hair.
12:35 - She still out when I strap her into her car seat.
12:50 - And after 20 minutes of trying to get the belt to click and realizing that it was caught in her clothes, she's finally ready to go.
I get to drive my mom's new Tribeca because she has the car seat base all setup. I've never driven it before.
Pop in Andrew Lloyd Webber: Panpipe Favorites. It's the only CD she has that I can stand to listen to for more than 3 minutes.
1:11 - Arrive at my sister's apartment, where I proceed to drop Lexi off.
It's a little rainy today. Meh.
I go and grab some lunch, since I haven't eaten.
1:31 - And return home.
Eat my lunch while watching reruns of Reba on Lifetime.
1:55 - Shower time.
2:20 - And I finally get back to what I was doing before Lexi started crying, which was check my friend's list.
And BroadwayWorld.com. I need to keep up on my Broadway obsessions.
2:58 - Since I got home at 12:30 AM last night, I need a bit more sleep before rehearsal.
Wake up.

5:17 - Get dressed, do hair and take a dirty mirror shot. Hey, I'm a nun, I don't have to look that good.
5:25 - Time to go, in my Axiom. Still raining.
5:30 - Stuck in rush hour traffic.

Stop at the gas station for a drink.
5:41 - And I'm on the road. The theatre is about 60 miles away, so I have to drive a bit.
6:05 - Still driving.
Change of music. Yay Lupone!Fantine.
6:35 - Almost there, but there is an ungodly amount of traffic at my exit.
6:47 - Finally there. With a very crappy picture of the sign. It says "The Artists' Studio"
When I enter I find that my costume is still not finished, which makes me the only nun without a habit. I'm just a rebel nun, I suppose. Anyway, here is a shot from the dressing room. I forgot to turn the flash on.
7:12 - There isn't a lobby, but everyone hangs out in a little nook near the entrance before the show starts.

8:00 - We finally run the show. The nuns have the opening, but it was dark so I didn't even try for a photo. This is "The Sound of Music". I kept the flash off for all of these. I was also sitting behind some scaffolding, which explains the bars.
8:24 - The kids entrance.
8:35 - The nuns don't come back until the end of act 1, so I sit back and watch an episode of Big Love on my iPod.
9:05 - The party, that's my cue.
From the wings. Nuns do their scene. Blah blah blah...
9:18 - Mother Abbess sings "Climb Ev'ry Mountain", and we're at intermission.
I get back to Big Love.
9:49 - "Something Good", that's another cue for me to get backstage.
Another shot from the wings. Then we all do the wedding scene, and back to our seats again. A nun's life is really rather boring.
10:15 - The concert, again, my cue to get backstage for the finale.
Rehearsal is done for the night.
11:00 - Back on the road. With a very shaky shot.
11:30 - Still on the road.
11:46 - Finally back home.
Quick stop at McDonald's due to great hunger and being too tired to go home and make anything.
11:57 - Hooooome.
I return just as dad is off to bed.

12:20 - Off to bed. I get to do it all again tomorrow.
