Call and see what flops? I am really not looking for a coin-flip on the bubble and the other dude put in 1/4 of his stack UTG. Unless you know the dude from earlier play, etc., it's hard to put yourself way ahead. Maybe AQ? Maybe...

Not sure - I think that's probably a pretty typical go-broke situation. Still, I hate going broke on the bubble with no pairs.

Well AK does better seeing all 5 cards than just 3. I think it's just a bad timing situation. Heh - this is basically how I went out against David Benyamine at the WPT event at the Bellagio.

Thing is the jam might get some smaller pairs that are favorites to you to fold. So fold equity comes into play. Also, sometimes you spike an ace there. And a whole lot of the time you have two over cards which makes it essentially a race. Against KK and especially AA you are sorta hosed but that's just bad timing and bad timing happens.

BTW - I assume there were antes. The mistake was made by the UTG player who should either open jam or fold. Same for you - your stack size is too short to call and look at a flop. I like a jam here over a stop and go - but either play is reasonable. I think if his raise was half your stack a stop and go would be more effective. As it stands you do have fold equity preflop hence a jam being better.
