I am of the same opinion when it comes to the "mood" at work. We may not be in the best job, but we are definately working with an awesome group of people, and that is enough for me. In the long run, we are paid well for the work we do, granted, we are getting paid the same as we used to 12 months ago and the workload was less, but at the end of the day, the "Beast" gives us money (except morgoth) and we get to spend some time with good people.

I must say, i've got it about 1000 times easier than you guys, and as such, i have no reason to complain with what i've got. But with that said, in my position i often spend large parts of my shift simply listening to my mates vent about the job... it's kinda contagious like that, and i often end up going home feeling a little depressed due to the sheer volume of unhappy people here... it's like some kind of depression-osmosis.
