This is beautiful and heartbreaking and hopeful MY GOD. And I have long wanted a Maurice AU of some sort in this fandom and you absolutely nailed it. Love!

You're not too late! :) And oh, I love them in this setting! It fits so well, with Esca as a servant and Marcus still in the army but both with that feeling of having lost so much and sort of drifting along until they find each other. And how you employed the bathtub--mmmmm, Esca massaging Marcus, and Marcus tilting his head back against Esca was such a sexy image.

Congratulations on defeating your first opponent! ;)

I love you so much right now. And I love the entire concept of this AU and how you've executed it and basically everything. You have turned my frown upside down and I love the WHOLE WORLD right now.

I love the mood. It matches the languor and melancholy of the film whenever I try to remember Maurice. And it's a great fusion since of course, Esca is Scudder.

thank you! when I thought about it, I was like, "oh, man, I totally have to write esca as scudder. it's perfect." I'm glad that you enjoyed it! ♥
