For one month only, you can Google 2001 (via ultraruby). It lets you search Google's index from the first month of the millennium, and in particular, it lets me search for Osama Bin Laden before 9/11. An innocent time, with no hits for "David Cameron MP".

Wikipedia also has nostalgia.wikipedia.org, a snapshot from December 2001. You may scorn Wikipedia now

I was puzzled for a moment there, re. the Witney MP, until I read backwards and spotted 'first month'. That makes more sense. :D

I daren't look at Wikipedia.
