DAMN YOU! MAKING ME TEAR UP AT WORK! Lol. ("no, no, it's just allergies!")

This was lovely, their conversation is so bittersweet and sort of wonderful. It has so many bits I wish they'd actually been able to say to each other.

“We couldn’t have had a bright and shiny future. It would have been impossible. Plus, we fight too much.”

He gave a small chuckle. “We would have fought every day, Kara. And we would have loved it.”

I love love love this bit. Because I believe it. They would've been happy, dammit.
Sigh.

I continue to be amazed how you make weird sense of the cylon stuff, translating it into Wonderland-ese. Really fantastic stuff, lady!

Bahhh I'm so glad you liked that convo!! It came straight from a big conversation that my mom, Kathleen, and I had after Katee Sackhoff at Dragoncon mentioned that she thought her real goodbye was in Maelstrom rather than Daybreak (which I prefer but wish there had been more). Actually, that's sort of where the idea for the whole story came from :)
