Summary: She was only trying to get away from the creepy stalker, she never could have imagined the consequences of banging her way into a random hotel room.
Destiny glanced down at what she was wearing hoping that she looked somewhat decent. After having spent the majority of the day dancing she had only had time to straighten her hair after a quick shower. She hadn’t wanted to be in her hotel room when her friends, as well as Jessie’s dance team, had come back. She nodded her approval at her attire. She had thrown on a pair of skinny jeans, a purple shirt, and her favorite pair of purple Jordan’s. Destiny sighed before she knocked heavily on the door. She didn’t have to wait long as the door swung open revealing Selena.
“Hey,” Selena said with a smile, before she moved to the side to allow Destiny entrance.
“Hey,” Destiny said returning the smile.
She couldn't believe that it had only been the night before that she had easily barged into the room without worry. Now she walked into the hotel room nervous. She had never been more nervous in her entire life. It had only been the night before that she had gotten drunk with the other girl and now it was pretty awkward. Destiny briefly thought about how liquor definitely would have made things less awkward. Yet she wasn’t going to make that suggestion because she didn’t need things to get as comfortable as they had the night before. Destiny dropped onto the couch in the living room.
“So I figured we could order some room service,” Selena explained as she grabbed a menu of the table before sitting down next to Destiny.
“Ok.”
Selena opened the menu between them. Destiny tried her best to pay attention to the menu before her, but she quickly found it extremely difficult to concentrate on the food items. Her skin felt as if it had been lit on fire when the back of Selena’s hand landed on Destiny’s thigh as she held the menu out for them. Her heart pounded in her ears and it was impossible that Selena couldn’t hear it as well.
“See anything you like?” Selena asked.
Destiny glanced down at the menu and decided upon the first thing she saw.
“I figured I might just get a b burger,” Destiny stuttered out.
She instantly yelled at herself in her mind for stuttering over her words. She was glad that Selena didn’t seem to notice. She glanced at the younger girl out of the corner of her eye and saw she was examining the menu. Destiny gulped when she noticed that Selena was biting her bottom lip while she was considering her possible choices. It was sort of cute. Then Selena’s eyes turned off the menu and met Destiny’s. It took all of Destiny’s will power not to look away.
“A burger does sound good,” Selena agreed.
Selena got up and crossed the room to call in the order from the hotel room. Destiny immediately missed the feeling of having Selena so close to her. She sighed and became angry with herself. She couldn’t be falling for the Disney star. The last time she had fallen for someone her heart had been smashed into a million pieces. Destiny didn’t know if she was ready to offer up her heart to anyone new so soon.
“I figured we could watch a movie,” Selena explained holding up a few movies.
Destiny hadn’t even notice her disappear to get them. Destiny saw the top movie and immediately recognized it as one of her favorites.
“Honey is one of my favorite movies,” Destiny exclaimed, “And not just cause I’m a dancer.”
“We’ll have to dance some time,” Selena told her.
Destiny nodded. Moments later the movie was put on and Selena was back to sitting next to her much to Destiny’s delight. When the movie started they were just sitting next to each other. Destiny tried her best to pay attention to the movie, but she was having trouble focusing as she was innocently scooting closer to the brunette beside her. Unbeknownst to her Selena was secretly doing the same thing. Their hands brushed against each other. Destiny could feel her face turn bright red and was glad that the room was dark.
Destiny went through a mini argument in her mind. On one side she could easily fall for the girl beside her and she could end up getting hurt. Or she could end up happy. On the other side she could do nothing and ask herself for the rest of her life what if. Destiny already had too many regrets. She wasn’t about to let this become one of them. She glanced out of the corner of her eye at Selena and she decided to take a chance. She snaked her arm around the younger girl’s waist. She couldn’t help but grin when Selena moved closer to her and placed her on Destiny’s shoulder. Selena began to play with Destiny’s free hand. They stayed like that until the food came. Even then Destiny was reluctant to let the girl out of her arms. They seemed to fit together like a puzzle.
She was glad that it was no longer awkward between them.
