I'm so sorry to read this. You've written about your beloved abuelita on several other occasions, and she's always reminded me a little of my own Oma. She, too, is now in the final days of her long life. She, too, is senile and no longer remembers her own children and grandchildren. And I feel sad that she is no longer the incredibly strong woman she once was. More than if she were to die today.

I feel guilty for not feeling more sad. I feel more sad for my father, if that makes sense.

This is me all over about a lot of the older people in my life. I totally understand. I hope things go as easily and painlessly as possible for everyone. I'll be thinking of you.

I will be praying for her. I don't know what else to say. Don't feel guilty. It is normal.
